Brazil star would be immense signing: Liverpool fans react to Pato reports
Liverpool supporters take to Twitter after reports the Reds have agreed a deal to sign Alexandre Pato
Liverpool’s reported agreement with Corinthians to sign Alexandre Pato got a lukewarm reception from the club’s fans on Twitter.
The Reds are speculated to have sealed a £14m deal for the Brazil international after Corinthians president Robero de Andrade confirmed the Merseyside outfit had reached an agreement in principle for the 26-year-old.
Brazil striker Pato, who has been previously linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur, returned to Brazil in 2013 after a five-year spell at Serie A giants AC Milan.
But not all Liverpool supporters were convinced by the prospect of signing the South American in the January transfer window.
One Reds fan believes Jurgen Klopp would be taking a gamble on Pato:
It's a risk. Remarkable if Liverpool spend €20m on Alexandre Pato. Corinthians have played well to make Liverpool pay this, if true.

However, Ben Wells has been convinced by the Brazilian’s recent performances for Corinthians:
Just seen Pato mentioned as a potential Liverpool player and its got me all giggly Used to think he wasn't up to it, but been amazing lately

Is this the Klopp effect? This Twitter user certainly believes so:

But aptly named @markthewise is left speechless by a rumoured transfer fee of €20m (or £14m):
Liverpool are going to spend €20m on Pato…. Whaaaaaat?

And Jak Edgley believes Pato is well past his sell by date:
I'd be buzzing if Liverpool were linked with Pato 5 years ago.

Finally, Lewis Gowthorpe reckons Pato wouldn’t be any better than the options currently at the club:
Pato to liverpool? We will have a full bag of quavers at this rate
