Cesar Azpilicueta sends message to injured Chelsea captain John Terry

Chelsea skipper John Terry suffered an ankle injury during 4-0 win at Maccabi Tel-Aviv

Cesar Azpilicueta has wished John Terry a speedy recovery after the Chelsea captain suffered an ankle injury during a 4-0 win at Maccabi Tel-Aviv on Tuesday night.

The 34-year-old was forced off on a stretcher in the 72nd minute of the Champions League win after Terry appeared to suffer an ankle problem on a poor pitch in Israel.

Terry, who was part of Chelsea’s Champions League-winning side at Allianz Arena in 2012, could miss Sunday’s London derby against Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane.

Chelsea full-back Azpilicueta was quick to send a message of support to the 34-year-old Blues captain following Terry’s injury setback.

Chelsea could also be without Brazil midfielder Ramires against Spurs after he sustained an injury during training at the Sammy Ofer Stadium in Haifa on Monday.

Unsurprisingly, Blues manager Jose Mourinho was highly critical of Maccabi Tel Aviv’s poor pitch ahead of the game.
