Chelsea and Man United stars ready for ‘special’ game

Cesar Azpilicueta, David De Gea and Juan Mata all take to Instagram ahead of Spain v England

Juan Mata is eagerly anticipating Spain’s special game against England in Alicante on Friday night.

The Three Lions face the reigning European champions on Spanish soil after having secured their place at next summer’s Euro 2016 earlier this year.

Mata’s Manchester United team-mate Wayne Rooney isn’t expected to start against Spain as Roy Hodgson looks to evaluate other options in his squad.

But the £37.1m signing certainly appears keen to secure a starting spot in Vicente del Bosque’s line-up for the clash against the Three Lions.

Mata wrote: “Last training session before a special game tomorrow! @sefutbol vs @england”

Mata’s United pal David De Gea could start in goal for La Roja as he comes face-to-face with some of his Premier League rivals after five successive clean sheets.

The Spain shot stopper can sense the buzz around Alicante ahead of the visit of England on Friday evening.

De Gea wrote on his Instagram page: “Great atmosphere in training before a special game : Spain – England #Alicante”

Chelsea striker Diego Costa is expected to start for the defending European champions despite failing to score in his last six games.

Costa’s Blues team-mate Cesar Azpilicueta was also attempting to impress Del Bosque in their final training session yesterday.
