Chelsea transfers: Blues told £24.5m bid will land Marseille striker
Chelsea told that they will have to pay £24.5m if they want to sign Marseille striker Michy Batshuayi
Chelsea have been told that they will have to pay £24.5m if they want to sign Marseille striker Michy Batshuayi in the January transfer window.
The west London club have been linked with a host of players as the winter window approaches and following the Blues’ stuttering start to the Premier League season.
Chelsea have been showing an interest in signing Batshuayi from the Ligue 1 outfit in recent weeks as Jose Mourinho considers bolstering his attacking options in the mid-season window.
However, the Premier League outfit have been told that they will have to cough up at least £24.5m to land the striker in the New Year.
Marseille president Labrune Vincent is quoted as saying by Metro: “Any club interested in having Michy Batshuayi services will have to pay 35 million euros (£24.5m).
“Right now he is one of the most closely watched market players.”
Chelsea are currently 16th in the Premier League table and just three points above the relegation zone after a disastrous start to the new season.
The Blues slumped to their seventh defeat of the campaign at Stoke earlier this month and take on Norwich City at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.
