Christian Eriksen fires warning at Arsenal ahead of Tottenham clash
Christian Eriksen warns Arsenal that Tottenham will head to The Emirates on Sunday full of confidence
Christian Eriksen has warned Arsenal that Tottenham have now clicked under Mauricio Pochettino and head into Sunday’s north London derby full of confidence.
Spurs warmed up for their trip to Emirates Stadium on Sunday with a 2-1 victory over Anderlecht in the Europa League on Thursday night.
The north London side also continued their good domestic form by beating Aston Villa 3-1 in the Premier League last Monday to keep them in fifth place in the table and five points behind the leaders.
And Eriksen believes that the Lilywhites are now clicking into gear under their manager and says he and his team-mates are in a confident mood heading into this weekend’s showdown.
Eriksen told Sky Sports News HQ: “It’s always more comfortable to play in a team when we are winning more than losing.
“Everyone is really happy at where we are. We’ve shown we have good players and enjoy playing with each other.
“In the beginning [of Pochettino’s tenure] there were a lot of things we needed to recognise, needed to remember, but now the players around us know where to go. Normally we have an idea.
“It’s the best connection with the squad. Everyone is down to earth, easy to speak with and easy to play with.
“[Pochettino] found a solution for what we needed, because we were a young team. We hopefully will play as quick as we can, we want to go forward, we want to attack, we want to score goals.
“It’s nice to play in, especially when you are an attacking player.”
Arsenal head into Sunday’s game looking to return to winning ways after the humiliation of their 5-1 loss to Bayern Munich in the Champions League in midweek.
The Gunners were 3-0 winners at Swansea City in the Premier League last weekend.
