Cristiano Ronaldo: My one wish for Man United this season

Cristiano Ronaldo wants to see Manchester United challenging for the Premier League title this season

Cristiano Ronaldo has declared his desire to see Manchester United win the Premier League this season under Louis van Gaal.

The Red Devils have been in decent form so far this term and find themselves fourth in the table after 12 games, and just two points behind leaders Manchester City.

United have been criticised for their unadventurous style of play in recent weeks following a string of goalless draws for the Red Devils.

However, former United man Ronaldo says that he has been impressed by Van Gaal’s impact at the club and is fully expecting his old club to challenge for the Premier League title this season.

Ronaldo told the London Evening Standard: “He [Van Gaal] is doing a good job at Manchester United especially this year.

“As people know, Manchester United is a club I support and I like it so what I expect is that Manchester United can be champions this year. This is my wish.”

United, who beat West Bromwich Albion 2-0 on Saturday thanks to goals from Jesse Lingard and Juan Mata, return to Premier League action after the international break with a trip to Watford on 21 November.

United were knocked out of the League Cup by Middlesbrough on penalties last month.
