Danny Mills makes bold prediction about Liverpool’s January transfer plans
Danny Mills is expecting Liverpool to be busy during the January transfer window
Danny Mills is expecting to see Liverpool sign two or three players during the January transfer window as Jurgen Klopp looks to bolster his squad at Anfield.
The Reds have inevitably been linked with a host of players in recent days as the mid-season window looms large.
I’d be surprised if there weren’t two or three signings in January
Klopp is considering bolstering his squad at Anfield as he looks to stamp his authority at the Merseyside outfit following his appointment as Brendan Rodgers’ successor last month.
And former England international Mills is fully expecting Liverpool to be busy during the January transfer window.
Mills, who earned 19 England caps, told Sportlobster: “It’s going to take at least a couple of transfer windows for Klopp to bring in the players he wants.
“He’ll undoubtedly move a few on too so he needs a bit of time to make this team his own. I’m sure there are players in this Liverpool side who he feels aren’t doing the job he’s asking of them and he’ll be making assessments now for next season’s squad.
“I’d be surprised if there weren’t two or three signings in the January window.
“It remains to be seen if they will be marquee signings but I expect them to be very good players who will improve the team greatly.”
Liverpool take on Bordeaux in the Europa League on Thursday night as they look to build on their impressive 4-1 win over Manchester City at The Etihad last weekend.
Klopp’s men then turn their attentions back to Premier League affairs and a home clash with Swansea City at Anfield on Sunday afternoon.
