Eamon Dunphy believes Arsenal’s 5-1 defeat by Bayern Munich on Wednesday night proves the Gunners don’t have the quality to win the Premier League title.

The north London side suffered a resounding loss to the Bundesliga champions at Allianz Arena after Thomas Muller’s brace and goals from Robert Lewandowski, David Alaba and Arjen Robben.

Arsenal are top of the Premier League table after a run of five consecutive victories, including wins against Manchester United, Everton and Swansea City.

Former United midfielder Dunphy reckons Arsenal are lacking team spirit as highlighted by their collapse against Pep Guardiola’s side in the Champions League.

“I saw a conversation on British TV at the weekend – will Arsenal win the league. The experts seemed to think they would,” Dunphy told Irish television channel RTE.

“I don’t think they will win the Premier League. The seeds of it are in that performance. I don’t think a Manchester United or Chelsea team would go that easily and be buried like arsenal were.”

Arsenal have collected 24 points from a possible 33 after 11 games this season.

Arsene Wenger’s side face Mauricio Pochettino’s Tottenham outfit in the Premier League on Sunday after a 3-0 win at Swansea last weekend.
