Eden Hazard sets Chelsea target for the season

Eden Hazard is confident that Chelsea have what it takes to seal a top-four finish this season

Eden Hazard has declared that Chelsea are determined to secure a top-four finish in the Premier League this season as they look to recover from their slow start to the campaign.

The Blues earned a point after battling to a goalless draw against Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane on Sunday afternoon.

We want to finish in the top four and we know it’s difficult

Chelsea have lost half of their opening 14 Premier League games to leave them with a significant task if they are to climb the table and secure qualification for next season’s Champions League.

The west London side, who won the title at a canter last season, are 14th in the table and currently trail fourth-placed Arsenal by 12 points.

However, Belgium playmaker Hazard is confident that Jose Mourinho’s men have what it takes to finish in the top four this season.

Hazard told Chelsea TV: “We try to take game after game and win game after game.

“We won against Norwich, we drew here and we play a good game at home next week which we have to win.

“We want to finish in the top four and we know it’s difficult but we will try. We will continue to work hard and continue to take pleasure from our game.”

Chelsea take on Bournemouth in the Premier League at Stamford Bridge in their next top-flight game on Saturday evening.
