Zinedine Zidane has fuelled the speculation linking Real Madrid with a big-money swoop to sign Eden Hazard from Chelsea by admitting that he is a keen admirer of the Belgium playmaker.

Hazard’s future at Chelsea has been a subject of uncertainty in recent weeks and talk of a potential switch to Real Madrid gathered pace when the 24-year-old liked a post on social media suggesting that he is a transfer target for Los Blancos.

Chelsea’s stuttering start to the new season has done little to quell suggestions that Hazard could be targeted by Madrid in forthcoming transfer windows.

Now, Real Madrid coach Zidane has sparked fresh speculation linking Hazard with the La Liga outfit after he admitted his admiration for the player and stated that he is only behind Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi in terms of ability.

Zidane is quoted as saying by Sky Sports: “I have no doubts he’ll be back. After Messi and Ronaldo, Hazard is my favourite player. It is spectacular to see him play.

“Do I see him going to Real Madrid? I love the player, that’s all I will say.”

Hazard, who has also been linked with Paris Saint-Germain, has not scored in 12 Premier League games for Chelsea this season.
