Erik Lamela gushes with praise for Tottenham Hotspur team-mate

Erik Lamela has been very impressed by Harry Kane's development at Tottenham Hotspur

Erik Lamela has heaped praise on Harry Kane, claiming that the Tottenham Hotspur striker is worth his weight in gold.

Kane has earned plenty of plaudits in recent months following his impressive displays for the north London side.

The striker scored Spurs’ opener as the Lilywhites were held to a 1-1 draw by Arsenal in their most recent Premier League outing before the international break.

Kane, 22, has netted six times in 12 Premier League games for the north London side so far this season after being named the PFA young player of the year last term.

And Tottenham playmaker Lamela has been thoroughly impressed by Kane’s attitude as the striker looks to continue to improve.

Lamela told the London Evening Standard: “He has exactly the same approach to life as he did when I first met him, long before he became the player he is now,.

“He has never changed, always putting in the maximum. That’s not the case with everyone whose career goes through the changes his has, and in my opinion, that is worth gold. I like the way he conducts himself so I’m really happy he is doing well, and I’m convinced he will continue to do so.

“He’s a strong guy, he’s always in the right place, he has ambition and he wants to win. That is very important. We’re almost the same age, and I train with him every day so I know he is a very normal, down-to-earth guy.”
