Former Arsenal defender runs rule over Jurgen Klopp’s ‘tasty’ Liverpool
Martin Skrtel says Jurgen Klopp is making massive difference at Liverpool
Martin Keown says he is massively impressed with Jurgen Klopp’s “tasty” Liverpool side.
The Reds gave their top-four ambitions a boost on Saturday night after an emphatic 4-1 victory over Manchester City at Etihad Stadium.
The 18-time English champions are six points behind fourth-placed Arsenal after successive victories over Chelsea and City in the Premier League.
Speaking on BBC Sport’s Match Of The Day, former Arsenal defender Keown admitted that he is impressed with Klopp’s impact at the Merseyside club.
“Massively [impressed],” Keown said.
“The way he is getting his players to play. He has worked with the team so quickly. His message is getting across to the players.
“Liverpool looked really tasty today.”
Liverpool eased into a seventh-minute lead thanks to Eliaquim Mangala’s own goal at The Etihad.
Brazil international Philippe Coutinho added a second before Roberto Firmino handed Liverpool a 3-0 lead after 32 minutes at Eastlands.
Although Sergio Aguero managed to offer City some hope with a goal before half-time, Liverpool centre-half Martin Skrtel completed the rout with nine minutes remaining.
