Liverpool must stick with their current tactics after Saturday’s 4-1 win at Manchester City, according to Roy Evans.

The Merseyside outfit returned to winning ways in the Premier League after City defender Eliaquim Managala scored a seventh-minute own goal before Philippe Coutinho, Roberto Firmino and Martin Skrtel all beat England number one Joe Hart.

Liverpool have lost just once in eight games under Jurgen Klopp after the 48-year-old former Borussia Dortmund manager replaced Brendan Rodgers following October’s Merseyside derby.

Evans, who led Liverpool to League Cup glory in 1992, endorsed Klopp’s tactics after the Reds’s impressive win against Manuel Pellegrini’s side on Saturday evening.

Liverpool are six points behind fourth-placed Arsenal following their fifth win in 13 Premier League games.
