Former Liverpool striker backs Jurgen Klopp over Daniel Sturridge injury

Don Hutchinson takes to Twitter after Jurgen Klopp's comment about Daniel Sturridge's latest injury issue

Don Hutchinson says he can relate to Jurgen Klopp’s comments on injury-prone Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge.

The England international appeared to be on the brink of a comeback after he trained with the first-team ahead of the visit of Bordeaux.

However, Sturridge missed the 2-1 win against the Ligue 1 side after he reportedly felt pain in his foot.

The Reds striker has played just three games since he underwent a hip operation in May, before he succumbed to knee problem following October’s Merseyside derby which was followed by his latest setback this week.

Klopp suggested that Sturridge needed to improve his pain threshold and his ability to judge “real pain and pain” during his rehabilitation from injuries.

Former Liverpool striker Hutchinson took to Twitter following Klopp’s pre-match media conference on Friday, in a bid to explain the Reds manager’s comments in more detail.
