Gary Lineker jokes about Tottenham’s growing England influence
The Tottenham legend picks out one moment of good England play between Eric Dier and Harry Kane
England may have suffered a 2-0 loss to Spain on Friday night, but Gary Lineker was pleased to see two Tottenham Hotspur players doing well.
Roy Hodgson’s side suffered a defeat by the reigning European championship holders in Alicante after goals from Mario and Santi Cazorla in the second half.
The England manager started Spurs duo Harry Kane and Kyle Walker before he introduced Dele Alli and Eric Dier in the second half of the friendly.
And Lineker was particularly delighted to see Dier and Kane link up during one of England’s better moments during an otherwise disappointing game.
Tottenham are starting to look good here.

Kane has scored six times in his last three games in all competitions for Mauricio Pochettino’s Tottenham side.
Alli and Dier impressed for Spurs during their recent 1-1 draw with Arsenal in last Sunday’s north London derby.
Tottenham are in fifth place and five points behind leaders Manchester City.
