Harry Kane sends blunt warning to Arsenal ahead of Tottenham clash
Harry Kane says Tottenham will set a high tempo against Arsenal as they look to beat their local rivals at Emirates Stadium
Harry Kane has warned Arsenal that Tottenham Hotspur are planning to attack as much as possible during Sunday’s north London derby at Emirates Stadium.
The Lilywhites head to their local rivals’ home ground looking to build on their recent good form and on the back of their 2-1 win over Anderlecht in the Europa League on Thursday night.
Arsenal, meanwhile, warmed up for Sunday’s showdown with a 5-1 defeat at the hands of Bayern Munich in the Champions League on Wednesday night.
And Kane feels that Spurs have the momentum heading into the game as they look to gain revenge for their League Cup exit at the hands of Arsenal back in September.
Kane told the Daily Star: “We have come off two very good wins so we are going into the game on a high and hopefully we can finish the week off well.
“It is going to be a great battle and everyone is looking forward to it. We want to go there, set a high tempo and play well.”
He continued: “It was not a good night for them against Bayern. They took a bit of a hiding in midweek and they are going to want to put that right.
“A lot has been said about that result and, as fellow players, you know they will come out firing to try and put things right. So we know what to expect.”
Arsenal head into Sunday’s game in second place in the table and level on points with Premier League leaders Manchester City.
Spurs, meanwhile, are sixth in the table and five points from the top after 11 games.
