Harry Kane sends confident message to Tottenham Hotspur fans

Harry Kane insists that he never doubted his ability despite his slow start for Tottenham this season

Harry Kane has insisted that he never doubted his ability after struggling to find the net for Tottenham Hotspur early in the season.

The England international only managed to score one goal in his first nine appearances for the north London club this season after notching up 21 strikes last season.

Kane appears to have rediscovered his scoring touch in recent weeks by netting five times in his last three outings for the Lilywhites.

And the 22-year-old forward insists that he was always confident he would start scoring regularly again despite his slow start to the new season.

Kane is quoted as saying by the Daily Mirror: “I seemed to be scoring pretty much every time I played last term, so I knew there was going to be a spell at some point in this season that I probably wouldn’t be scoring for a few games.

“And when the season started I was aware that people were going to compare me to last year so I was ready for that.

“Obviously, I knew certain things were going to come up if I wasn’t scoring, but I am confident in my ability and I know what I want to achieve in my career and I knew that the goals would come.”

The striker netted the opening goal as Spurs drew 1-1 with local rivals Arsenal at Emirates Stadium before the international break.

Tottenham return to Premier League action with a home clash against West Ham United at White Hart Lane after the international break on Sunday 22 November.
