Hector Bellerin: Arsenal star Mesut Ozil is world’s best No10
Arsenal defender Hector Bellerin explains why Mesut Ozil is best No10 in the world
Hector Bellerin says he feels lucky to share the Arsenal dressing room with the world’s best No10 Mesut Ozil.
The Germany international has been in scintillating form for the north London side in recent weeks and Ozil teed up Kieran Gibbs for Arsenal’s equaliser in last weekend’s 1-1 draw with Tottenham Hotspur.
I don’t think there’s a better No 10 than him at the moment
Ozil’s assist was his sixth in six successive Premier League games and the 26-year-old World Cup winner has already created 10 goals for his team-mates in the English top-flight this season.
And Arsenal defender Bellerin, who moved to the FA Cup winners from La Liga giants Barcelona in 2010, ran the rule over Ozil’s unbelievable skills.
“He is one of the most intelligent players I’ve played with and has an eye for the pass that no one else sees,” Bellerin told Sky Sports.
“I don’t think there’s a better No 10 than him at the moment. When he first came to Arsenal we were all very excited and now he’s showing us what he’s all about.
“When I first got to train with him [when I joined the first-team] it was unbelievable to see the stuff he could do. I feel very lucky to share a dressing room with him.”
Ozil has also scored one goal in 11 Premier League games for Arsene Wenger’s side this term.
The Gunners are level on points with leaders Manchester City following 12 games.
Arsenal make the trip to West Bromwich Albion in their next Premier League fixture on 21 November.
