Hector Bellerin: Arsenal not worried about Alexis Sanchez injury

Hector Bellerin insists that Arsenal have plenty of cover for the likes of Alexis Sanchez and Laurent Koscielny

Hector Bellerin insists that he and his Arsenal team-mates are not concerned about their ability to cope without Alexis Sanchez after the forward suffered a hamstring injury in Sunday’s draw at Norwich.

After setting up Mesut Ozil for the Gunners’ opener in the first half at Carrow Road, Sanchez was forced off on the hour-mark after appearing to pull his hamstring.

Arsenal are now waiting to assess the extent of Sanchez’s problem, with defender Laurent Koscielny also forced off early on in the game with a hip injury.

However, despite the Gunners latest injury setbacks, Bellerin insists that he is confident Wenger’s men will be able to cope without some of their key stars.

Bellerin told Arsenal Player: “I have said it before, there is great depth in the team.

“There are a lot of young players in the team waiting to come through, and we have a lot of quality training with us every day.

“They are ready to step up so obviously every single player on the bench can do the same job as every single player in the starting XI.

“We don’t need to worry about [the injuries to Sanchez and Koscielny]. The only thing we need to do is go out onto the pitch with the right mentality, it does not matter who we play.”

Sunday’s 1-1 draw at Norwich left Arsenal in fourth place in the Premier League table and two points behind leaders Manchester City.
