Hector Bellerin says Arsenal stars Petr Cech and Nacho Monreal have helped the full-back improve
Hector Bellerin says Arsenal duo Petr Cech and Nacho Monreal have helped the Gunners youngster a lot.
The 20-year-old full-back has established himself as the north London side’s first-choice right-back this season ahead of France defender Mathieu Debuchy.
Cech’s given me a lot of advice as a young player and not just as a goalkeeper, but as a person, I rate him a lot
Bellerin has made one assist in 10 Premier League appearances for Arsene Wenger’s side this term, although the former Barcelona man is currently sidelined with injury.
The Spain Under-21 international revealed that his compatriot Monreal has been a great source of help in the dressing room over the past 12 months.
“He’s a great person as well who helped me a lot in the dressing room when I was coming in as a young player,” Bellerin told Sky Sports.
“[It’s nice] having these kind of people that help you when things go wrong in any single moment, and that they can be like a big brother to you.”
Bellerin added that summer signing Cech has helped the full-back become a better defender after the goalkeeper joined Arsenal in an £11m deal from defending Premier League champions Chelsea in the summer transfer window.
“Since the moment he came to the club with the quality he has and the experience, it has helped me a lot,” Bellerin added.
“He’s given me a lot of advice as a young player and not just as a goalkeeper, but as a person, I rate him a lot.”
Arsenal are unbeaten in their last six Premier League games ahead of their trip to West Bromwich Albion next weekend.
The Gunners are level on points with Premier League leaders Manchester City.
