Hector Bellerin: Why Arsenal training with Alexis Sanchez is hard
Arsenal defender Hector Bellerin admits Alexis Sanchez still torments the youngster in first-team training
Hector Bellerin has revealed that he still finds it hard to train against Arsenal striker Alexis Sanchez.
The Chile international moved to the north London side from La Liga giants Barcelona in a big-money £35m deal in 2014.
You literally never know what he’s going to do, he’s so quick
Sanchez has endured a slow start to the Premier League season after having scored just six goals in 12 top-flight games.
However, Arsenal defender Bellerin revealed that Sanchez hasn’t gotten any easier to defend against in first-team training at London Colney.
Bellerin told Sky Sports: “A player like him is always so hard to defend against.
“I’ve been training with him for more than a year and it’s still so hard, you literally never know what he’s going to do, he’s so quick, always touches the ball at the last minute and has an eye for goal as well.
“It’s always nice to know that you have a player who at any minute of the game can score from like 40 yards.
“We are very happy at the club to have him in our team and it’s a joy to train with him every day.”
The 26-year-old forward has scored seven goals and has made three assists in 17 appearances in all competitions for the Gunners this term.
Sanchez had an immediate impact in the Premier League in his first season at Emirates Stadium after he netted 16 times in 34 games.
The Gunners are level on points with Premier League leaders Manchester City after having racked up 25 points from 12 games.
