Jack Wilshere has revealed that he is drawing inspiration from the likes of Danny Welbeck and Thomas Rosicky as the Arsenal trio continue their recoveries from injury.

Wilshere has been sidelined since August after having to undergo surgery to fix a hairline fracture in his leg, while Welbeck and Rosicky are also long-term absentees with knee injuries.

All three players are now working on their fitness levels together as they bid to return to action in the New Year.

And England international Wilshere has lifted the lid on how all three players have been helping to motivate each other as they look to improve their fitness.

Wilshere told Arsenal’s website: “We all know it’s difficult and just being around other people helps.

“At the moment it’s me, Danny and Tomas because we’re the only ones with long-term injuries. Just being around other people, speaking to them and having a bit of banter with them helps as well.”

He continued: “We’re still early in the season and the busiest part of the season is coming up.

“I want to be part of this team and I proved last season that I can get back and fight for a place. I know it’s not going to be easy but that’s what I want to do.”

Arsenal return to Premier League action with a trip to West Bromwich Albion in the Premier League on Saturday. The Gunners are currently second in the table and level on points with leaders Manchester City.
