Interesting choice...

James Wilson says that Michael Carrick is the most technically gifted player he has ever lined up with at Manchester United.

The United starlet was asked to name who he thought the most gifted player he had featured alongside in an interview with the club’s official website, and the 19-year-old ignored the likes of Wayne Rooney, Juan Mata and Memphis Depay to select England international Carrick.

Wilson is clearly a keen admirer of Carrick, as he also picked the midfielder as the best passer he had ever played with.

The teenager has been limited to just one Premier League appearance for Louis van Gaal’s men so far this season.

Carrick, meanwhile, has made 10 top-flight appearances but picked up an injury while on international duty with England last week.

The Red Devils return to Premier League action with a trip to Watford on Saturday lunchtime.

Van Gaal’s men head into the game in fourth place in the Premier League table and two points behind leaders and local rivals Manchester City.
