Jamie Carragher: Jurgen Klopp starting to transform Liverpool
Jamie Carrahger heaps praise on Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp
Jamie Carragher says Jurgen Klopp is starting to transform Liverpool.
The Reds manager masterminded their 4-1 victory over Manchester City at Etihad Stadium on Saturday evening.
I think that was the first time we’ve seen the work of him offensively, what he can do and maybe the damage he can cause with his teams
Liverpool have won back-to-back Premier League games on the road following impressive victories over Chelsea and City.
Klopp was appointed as Liverpool head coach after the Merseyside outfit sacked Brendan Rodgers following the Merseyside derby in October.
And Carragher, who played under Rodgers for one season before the centre-half retired, heaped praise on the German’s impact at Anfield.
Carragher told Sky Sports News: “You could see the work that had been done during the week. There was talk about why [Christian] Benteke wasn’t playing and Klopp said, ‘Well I’ve been using the same players for the last 10 days in training’ and you can see how that’s worked.
“We’ve spoken about the work of Klopp in terms of being organised and pressing.
“I think that was the first time we’ve seen the work of him offensively, what he can do and maybe the damage he can cause with his teams, and that’s from working with those players for 10 days during the international break.”
Liverpool have lost just once in six Premier League games since Klopp took over the reins at Anfield.
The Reds are six points behind fourth-placed Arsenal in the hunt for a Champions League spot after their impressive 4-1 win at Manchester City.
