Jamie Redknapp believes Chelsea can still finish in the Premier League’s top four this season.

The west London side are in 15th place in the Premier League table after 11 points from 11 games.

I don’t care what anyone says – this Chelsea team can still make the top four

The defending champions are already 14 points behind leaders Manchester City and 10 points behind fourth-placed Manchester United.

Jose Mourinho’s side will look to get back to winning ways against Stoke City at The Britannia on Saturday evening.

Former Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur captain Redknapp reckons Chelsea can still qualify for next season’s Champions League if the Blues improve in the coming weeks.

Redknapp told Sky Sports: “There are a lot of damaged egos in that dressing room and they almost hit rock bottom last week against Liverpool.

“But they bounced back with a good result in the Champions League and now they need to build on it.

“I don’t care what anyone says – this Chelsea team can still make the top four. But, when you’re on such a bad run, it takes time to turn it around. It doesn’t suddenly happen in one game, it happens bit by bit, week by week.”

That’s why it’s important they don’t lose to Stoke this Saturday. They may not be able to manage the game as well as they did last season, when they earned a 2-0 win, but they’ll hope to replicate last month’s Capital One Cup display there and come away with a result.

Chelsea suffered a 3-1 defeat by bitter rivals Liverpool at Stamford Bridge in the Premier League last weekend.

The defending English champions have already lost to Manchester City, Crystal Palace, Everton, Southampton, West Ham United and Liverpool this term.
