Jose Mourinho has admitted that he “doesn’t know how to thank” Chelsea’s fans for their unwavering support during Wednesday night’s Champions League win over Dynamo Kyiv.

The Portuguese coach has found himself under intense pressure in recent weeks following the west London club’s disastrous start to the Premier League season, which left them 15th in the table and 14 points behind leaders Manchester City.

Chelsea finally returned to winning ways on Wednesday as an own goal from Aleksandar Dragovic and Willian’s late free-kick earned his side a 2-1 victory.

The Stamford Bridge faithful made their support for the Chelsea boss known by chanting his name throughout recent games in west London.

And Mourinho admits that he does not know how to repay the club’s fans for their support in recent weeks.

Mourinho told his post-match news conference: “What they did for me is not normal, or they don’t read papers or they don’t listen to television and pundits and commentators.

“Or they have a big heart or they recognise that I am a good professional, I give everything to the club, I brought great moments for the club.

“I don’t know how to thank them. The only thing I can say is that until my last day in this club – four years, 10 years, 15 years, it doesn’t matter – until my last day I will give everything for them.”

Chelsea return to Premier League action this weekend with a trip to Stoke City on Saturday evening.
