Juventus 1 Man City 0: Player ratings as Joe Hart shines

Player ratings as Manchester City underwhelm in a 1-0 loss to Juventus

Joe Hart Made a stunning reaction save down low to his left from Mario Mandzukic. Kept the Citizens in the game with two more excellent stops in the second half. Had no chance with the goal and was subbed due to injury late on. 8/10

Gael Clichy Survived a heart-in-mouth moment when he nearly presented Juventus with a goal as he stumbled on the ball at the back post. Put in some good crosses but struggled to handle the speed of Stephan Lichtsteiner. 6

Nicolas Otamendi Legitimately out-muscled by Mandzukic for the goal while he should have focused on winning the ball rather than complaining to the referee. Was bullied all over the pitch by the big Juventus front man. 4

Martin Demichelis Reminded everyone just how much City miss Vincent Kompany with a haphazard display. Alvaro Morata in particular had a field day against the Argentine defender. 5

Bacary Sagna City’s attacks down the right flank produced little of note and Sagna was often to blame. Harshly booked for a foul on Stefano Sturaro. 5

Fernando Forced a good save with a fierce downward header but was given the runaround by the mercurial Paul Pogba for much of this outing. 6

Fernandinho Spurned a glorious opportunity to give his side the lead when he blasted over from ten yards out. Booked and subbed before the hour. 5

Kevin De Bruyne The £52m man was anonymous throughout and outshone by Pogba. His final ball was dreadful on most occasions. 5

Yaya Toure Swapped shirts at half-time probably to the annoyance of the City fans. Fired in shots from all angles but couldn’t hit the target. Hasn’t scored in open play since the opening day of the season. 6

Jesus Navas Ineffective performance on the right wing. Couldn’t put in a threatening cross if his life depended on it and couldn’t utilise his primary asset – his pace. Booked. 5

Sergio Aguero Was presented with a one-on-one when Claudio Marchisio mistakenly played the ball directly to him, but the Argentine’s effort was blocked by the boot of Gianluigi Buffon in goal. Didn’t look at his sharpest and was taken off with 20 minutes to go. 6

Fabian Delph Flashed a shot across the face of goal but that aside stuctled to make an impact on the game. 5

Raheem Sterling Missed a golden chance to snatch a point when he somehow managed to shoot wide from six yards with the goal at his mercy. 4
