Wenger delivers latest Arsenal injury update after West Brom loss
Latest Arsenal injury update: Arsene Wenger discusses the latest news after Francis Coquelin and Mikel Arteta suffer injuries
Francis Coquelin’s knee injury will be assessed on Sunday after the midfielder was forced off early on during Arsenal’s 2-1 loss at West Bromwich Albion at The Hawthorns.
The French midfielder was replaced by Mikel Arteta in the 15th minute of the Premier League clash, before the Spaniard himself succumbed to a calf injury shortly after half-time.
Speaking after the game in his post-match news conference, Wenger confirmed the injury blows but refused to speculate on how serious the problems were.
Delivering the latest Arsenal injury update, Wenger said: “We have two more injuries. One is a muscle problem for Arteta and the other one is a knee problem and I don’t know how serious that is but we will know certainly tomorrow, for Coquelin. Arteta is a calf.”
Arsenal took the lead through Olivier Giroud in the 28th minute against the Baggies, but James Morrison equalised shortly after to haul Tony Pulis’ men level.
Arteta endured an afternoon to forget as he netted an own goal five minutes before half-time to put the Baggies in control.
