Ander Herrera and Phil Jones have both been ruled out of Wednesday’s Champions League clash with PSV Eindhoven, Louis van Gaal has confirmed as he delivered the latest Manchester United injury news.

The Spanish midfielder picked up a hamstring strain early on during United’s 2-1 win over Watford in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon and will sit out Wednesday’s clash against PSV. Jones will miss the European game at Old Trafford due to an ankle.

However, the was some good Manchester United injury news ahead of the visit of the Dutch side, with Van Gaal confirming that Anthony Martial, Wayne Rooney and Marouane Fellaini are all back available for selection after the trio took part in training on Tuesday morning.

Van Gaal delivered the latest Manchester United injury news as he addressed the media at the club’s Carrington training base on Tuesday afternoon.

Rooney had been sidelined with illness, while Martial has recovered from the foot injury he picked up on international duty with France last week.

United’s long-term absentees include Luke Shaw and Antonio Valencia, who will both be sidelines heading into the new year.
