Lineker and more: Twitter reacts to Tottenham star Dele Alli’s England display

Gary Lineker is among the tweeters after Dele Alli's impressive performance for England in their 2-0 win over France

Dele Alli announced himself to the England faithful with a stunning goal to send Roy Hodgson’s men on their way to a 2-0 victory over France in Tuesday’s international friendly at Wembley.

Alli has been one of Tottenham Hotspur’s top performers this season and was rewarded for his fine form by being given his full international debut in Tuesday’s clash.

The 19-year-old did not disappoint and opened the scoring for the Three Lions when he drilled home a superb shot past his Tottenham team-mate Hugo Lloris to give England the lead in the 39th minute in north London.

Wayne Rooney then made the victory secure on an emotional night in which fans and players united to honour the victims of the recent Paris attacks.

Alli’s impressive performance for the Three Lions inevitably prompted plenty of activity on Twitter – and here are some of our favourite updates.
