Liverpool transfers: Argentina starlet flattered by Anfield link
Manuel Lanzini says he is flattered to have been linked with a January transfer to Liverpool
Manuel Lanzini has admitted that he is flattered to have been linked with a January transfer to Liverpool in recent days.
The 22-year-old attacking midfielder is currently on loan to West Ham United from Al Jazira Club and scored the Hammers’ late consolation goal as the east London side slipped to a 4-1 loss to Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.
Lanzini has been touted as a possible target for Jurgen Klopp’s side as the German coach considers bolstering his attacking options at Anfield during the mid-season transfer window.
And the Argentina Under-20 international has done little to quell talk of a possible move to Anfield by admitting that it is an “absolute honour” to be linked with a switch to the Merseyside outfit.
Lanzini is quoted as saying by the Independent: “I heard the president say that the club wants me to stay. I am fine here.
“It’s an absolute honour that a team like Liverpool has put an eye on me.”
Lanzini has been in impressive form for West Ham so far this season, scoring four goals and notching up one assist in 11 Premier League games.
