Louis van Gaal singles out this one Man United man for special praise
Louis van Gaal praises Daley Blind for his improved set-piece deliveries for Manchester United in recent weeks
Louis van Gaal singled out Daley Blind for special praise after Manchester United’s 1-1 draw with Leicester City on Saturday evening.
Blind has been a regular fixture in the Red Devils’ first team this season and has proved himself to be effective with set-piece deliveries.
With United trailing to Jamie Vardy’s opener at the King Power Stadium, it was Blind’s delivery from a corner which allowed Bastian Schweinsteiger to head home an equaliser before half-time.
And Van Gaal has admitted that he is pleased with the former Ajax man’s deliveries from set-pieces.
Asked about United being dangerous from corners, Van Gaal told Sky Sports: “It’s because of the taker, Daley Blind.
“When you deliver that pass you can always be dangerous and it was already the last match against PSV also the same. So we have changed the taker and that’s the reason.”
Vardy netted the opener after a sweeping counter attack from the home side following a United corner at King Power Stadium in the 24th minute.
Schwensteiger then headed in the equaliser for Van Gaal’s men from a corner before half-time.
United host West Ham United in the Premier League next weekend.
