Man United legend Roy Keane offers advice to Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho

Former Man United captain Roy Keane says Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho needs to rise above critics

Roy Keane has urged Jose Mourinho to rise above his critics and concentrate on improving Chelsea’s performances.

The Blues eased to a 2-1 victory over Dynamo Kyiv at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday night after Willian netted an 83rd-minute free-kick to secure their first win in five games in all competitions.

He needs to focus on Chelsea’s performances and getting the best out of his players

Mourinho thanked Chelsea fans for showing their support for the under-fire Blues manager at The Bridge after having listened to “pundits, commentators, opinions” in recent weeks.

But former Manchester United captain Keane believes Mourinho should steer clear of commenting on pundits and social media in his post-match interviews.

“He is a fantastic coach with a fantastic track record but every time he gets interviewed after the game, he is talking about pundits and social media,” Keane told ITV Sport.

“He should be above all that. He needs to focus on Chelsea’s performances and getting the best out of his players. He isn’t doing that at the moment – that’s why they’re getting criticised.

“If they are winning every week like they were last season, he is loving it. He has to rise above all that and be better than it.”

Chelsea are three points behind FC Porto in Group G after their second win in four Champions League group-stage games.

The Blues have lost their last two Premier League games following defeats by West Ham United and Liverpool.
