Man United transfers: Charlie Nicholas on why Tottenham could sell Harry Kane

Charlie Nicholas suggests that Tottenham may have to consider selling Harry Kane to help fund their stadium move

Charlie Nicholas has claimed that Tottenham Hotspur may have to consider selling Harry Kane if a big-money bid came in as the north London side prepare for their stadium move.

Kane has been one of the Premier League’s standout performers this season and has scored a remarkable nine goals in his last six outings in all competitions for Mauricio Pochettino’s men.

Both Kane and Spurs have regularly insisted that the striker’s future remains at White Hart Lane, despite reported interest from the likes of Manchester United and Chelsea in recent months.

With funds expected to be tight at Tottenham as they prepare for their move into their new stadium in the coming years, former Arsenal man Nicholas believes that a big bid for Kane could well test the north London club’s resolve.

Nicholas said on Sky Sports News HQ: “Spurs will need money because of the stadium and if the right money comes along [they may sell].

“The interesting thing would be if Spurs had to look at the number and Harry knocked it back. That would be interesting.”
