Marcos Rojo: What Louis van Gaal has told me about my Man United career
Marcos Rojo reveals that Louis van Gaal has told him he has plenty of room for improvement at Manchester United
Marcos Rojo has revealed that Louis van Gaal is expecting big things from him as he continues to develop as a player at Manchester United.
The defender has been a regular fixture in the Red Devils’ first team since joining the Old Trafford outfit from Sporting Lisbon back in the summer of 2014.
Rojo has been deployed in the left-back position for United in recent weeks following Luke Shaw’s season-ending injury.
And the 25-year-old Argentina international has lifted the lid on how Van Gaal has spoken to him about what he expects from the defender in the coming weeks, months and years.
Rojo told United Review: “Without a doubt, I have a lot ahead of me to experience in the game. But I try to play every game in the same way, doing my absolute best whoever the opponents are.
“The manager has said I still have a lot more I can show as a player, and he is someone who is very knowledgeable about the game.
“All I try to do is train hard every day and keep growing and learning a little bit more.”
The defender has been a regular fixture in the Red Devils’ first team this season, making eight appearances in all competitions for Van Gaal’s men.
He will now turn his attentions back to the Premier League and helping Manchester United prepare for their home clash with West Bromwich Albion at Old Trafford on Saturday.
