Jason McAteer and Matt Holland take to Twitter after Republic of Ireland's battling 1-1 draw

Edin Dzeko denied the Republic of Ireland a famous win after the Roma striker salvaged a 1-1 draw for Bosnia-Herzegovina in the first leg of their Euro 2016 play-off.

Martin O’Neill’s side appeared to be heading for a close-fought 1-0 away victory after Robbie Brady edged the visitors ahead with 10 minutes remaining in foggy conditions.

However, on-loan Manchester City striker Dzeko levelled with a close-range finish after James McClean switched off with three minutes remaining in Bosnia.
