Mesut Ozil has told Arsenal fans that he is intent on scoring more goals than ever for Arsenal this season.

The Germany international has been in fine form for Arsene Wenger’s men so far this season to help the north London side up to second place in the Premier League table and level on points with leaders Manchester City.

Ozil has scored two goals in all competitions for the Gunners so far this season, including his cool finish in the 3-0 win over Manchester United last month.

The playmaker is leading the way in terms of assists in the Premier League this season, with Ozil having set up his team-mates 11 times in the top flight so far this term.

However, the World Cup winner is intent on improving his finishing in front of goal and improve on his last two returns for Arsenal.

Ozil told Arsenal Player: “After training there are a few shooting drills that can help with self-belief.

“In general, when you look at my chances in front of goal, I’ve taken them well.

“Every player wants to score goals. I’m intending to score more this season than in previous years. It’s most important for us to perform well and to be successful – I’m looking forward to giving assists or scoring goals.

“My aim is to score more goals this season than in the last two. I think I’m on a good path and will achieve that.”

Ozil will be expecting to feature when Arsenal return to Premier League action against West Bromwich Albion after the international break on 21 November.
