Mesut Ozil has admitted that helping Arsenal secure a dominant 3-0 win over Manchester United in the Premier League last month was a “special” achievement for him.

Arsenal ran riot in the opening 20 minutes against the Red Devils at Emirates Stadium as they raced into a 3-0 lead against their bitter rivals.

Ozil scored Arsenal’s second goal and also set up one of Alexis Sanchez’s two goals in north London to send Arsene Wenger’s men on their way to victory against United.

And Ozil has admitted that getting on the scoresheet against Louis van Gaal’s men has been one of the highlights of the season for him so far.

Ozil told Arsenal Player: “It [Ozil’s goal] all happened quickly.

“The move was really fast and when Theo [Walcott] played the ball back to me, I saw the gap in the corner and put it there.
