Michael Owen: Arsenal still have Champions League mountain to climb
Michael Owen refuses to get carried away over Arsenal's Champions League prospects
Michael Owen has warned Arsenal that they still have a Champions League mountain to climb if the Gunners want to reach the knockout phase.
Arsene Wenger’s men gave their prospects of reaching the last-16 stage a boost on Tuesday night after a 3-0 victory over Dinamo Zagreb at The Emirates.
Mesut Ozil broke the deadlock with a 29th minute header in north London, but Chile international Alexis Sanchez scored either side of half-time.
The Gunners need to beat Olympiacos in their final Champions League group game to secure a place in the next stage, having lost on three previous occasions on matchday six at the Greek club.
Former Manchester United and Real Madrid striker Owen was refusing to get carried away by Arsenal’s prospects following their emphatic win on Tuesday night.
Owen wrote on Sportslobster: “Arsenal very good tonight. Still a mountain to climb in Greece but it’s possible.”
Arsenal make the trip to Norwich City in their next Premier League game following a 2-1 loss to West Bromwich Albion last weekend.
