Michael Owen makes prediction for Arsenal v Dinamo Zagreb

Michael Owen is tipping Arsenal to beat Dinamo Zagreb and keep their Champions League hopes alive on Tuesday

Michael Owen is backing Arsenal to return to winning ways in the Champions League by beating Dinamo Zagreb on Tuesday night.

The Gunners host Dinamo at Emirates Stadium looking to bounce back from the disappointment of their 2-1 loss to West Bromwich Albion at The Hawthorns on Saturday afternoon.

Both Arsenal and Dinamo head into the game knowing that they must win to stand any chance of progressing to the last 16 of Europe’s elite club competition.

However, former Liverpool and Manchester United striker Owen believes that Arsene Wenger’s men will have too much for the visitors, despite their current injury woes.

“Despite a long injury list Arsenal are a confident selection against a Dinamo side who have not won any of their last 11 Champions League games on the road and have failed to find the back of the net in eight of those ties,” Owen wrote on Betvictor.com.

“Arsenal know they cannot afford any slip-ups if they are to have any chance of qualifying for the knock out stages although they still need Bayern to do them a favour against Olympiakos in Munich.”

An Arsenal victory on Tuesday, coupled with an Olympiacos defeat at Bayern Munich, would give the north Londoners a chance to finish second, with the Gunners set to visit the Greek side on 9 December.

Arsenal have won six and lost six of their last 13 Champions League home games in the competition proper.
