Mourinho delivers latest Chelsea injury update ahead of Tottenham trip
Jose Mourinho delivers the latest Chelsea team news concerning John Terry and Ramires ahead of Sunday's trip to Spurs
John Terry and Ramires will undergo late fitness tests to determine whether they will be available for selection for Chelsea’s trip to Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday, Jose Mourinho revealed as he delivered the latest injury update on Friday afternoon.
Blues captain Terry was carried off on a stretcher with an ankle injury during the 4-0 win over Maccabi Tel-Aviv on Tuesday night but posted a positive injury update on his Instagram page on Thursday.
Midfielder Ramires, meanwhile, suffered what Mourinho described as a pre-injury to a muscle when slipping on the pitch during training ahead of Tuesday’s European game.
Terry did not train with his team-mates at Cobham on Friday morning but, speaking at his pre-match news conference on Friday, Mourinho said that neither Terry or Ramires were 100 per cent ruled out of Sunday’s game.
Mourinho said: “Today Terry didn’t train but we have a little hope it’s possible (that he plays against Spurs). I have complete trust in Gary Cahill and Kurt Zouma,”
Meanwhile, Radamel Falcao is continuing his rehabilitation, while Thibaut Courtois is due to return from a knee injury the first two weeks in December.
