New Tottenham signing sends message to Spurs fans
Son Heung-min heaps praise on Tottenham Hotspur's supporters
Son Heung-min has heaped praise on the Tottenham Hotspur supporters ahead of Thursday night’s Europa League clash at Qarabag.
The South Korea has enjoyed a positive start to his Spurs career after the striker moved to the north London club in a £22m deal from Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen in the summer.
The 23-year-old forward has scored three goals and has made two assists in seven appearances in all competitions in an injury-hit start to life at White Hart Lane.
And Son, who made assists in wins against Anderlecht and West Ham over the past two weeks, explained why the Tottenham supporters have made such a good impression on the Asian.
“I think Tottenham fans are very football crazy,” Son told Tottenham’s website.
“They love when I fight, or when we fight. It’s unbelievable for me when I come out, all the people stand up and clap for me!”
“Before I came here, I liked this stadium and I liked the fans, because Lee Young-pyo played here, so I watched games. I like a small stadium that’s close, tight, and the fans are amazing.”
Tottenham equalled a club record on Sunday after going 12 games unbeaten in the Premier League thanks to a 4-1 victory over the Hammers.
Spurs haven’t suffered a defeat in the Premier League since a 1-0 loss to Manchester United on the opening day of the season.
