Norwich 1 Arsenal 1: Player ratings as Alexis Sanchez shines

Player ratings as Arsenal are held to a 1-1 draw by Norwich City at Carrow Road and Alexis Sanchez is subbed off injured

Petr Cech Forced into a routine save to deny Robbie Brady late in the first half. Beaten by Lewis Grabban’s finish from close range. 6/10

Hector Bellerin Not as effective as he has been in recent weeks both in defence and going forwards. 5

Per Mertesacker Still never looks entirely convincing at the back. 5

Laurent Koscielny Replaced by Gabriel in the 11th minute after picking up a painful-looking hip problem. N/A

Nacho Monreal Always looked a threat attacking down the left in the first half but looked less convincing defensively as Norwich pushed forward after the break. 6

Mathieu Flamini Arsene Wenger’s choice to fill in for the injured Francis Coquelin. Did OK but the Gunners are clearly going to miss Coquelin’s discipline in the holding midfield role. 6

Santi Cazorla Typically creative. Was the driving force behind many of Arsenal’s attacks. Got more sloppy as the game wore on, like Arsenal’s overall performance. 6

Aaron Ramsey Replaced by Oxlade-Chamberlain in the 72nd minute after making his return to the starting line-up. Worked hard. 6

Mesut Ozil Put the Gunners ahead with a lovely low chipped finish in to the far post after latching on to Sanchez’s through-ball. 7

Alexis Sanchez Was his usual, energetic self before being subbed off with suspected hamstring problem on the hour-mark to add to Arsenal’s injury woes. Set up Ozil’s opener with a neat through-pass. 7

Olivier Giroud Fluffed a first-half effort past the near post. Not his best afternoon. 4

Substitutes:

Gabriel Paulista Called upon early on after Koscielny’s injury setback. Shouldn’t have been caught on the wrong side of Grabban for Norwich’s equaliser. 5

Joel Campbell Came on for Sanchez but failed to make much of an impact. 5

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain Added some pace to Arsenal’s attacks late on. 5
