Alexis Sanchez scored twice as Arsenal kept their Champions League hopes alive by beating Dinamo Zagreb 3-0 at Emirates Stadium on Tuesday night.

Knowing that anything other than a win would dump them out of Europe’s elite club competition, Mesut Ozil opened the scoring with a neat low header in the 29th minute in north London.

Sanchez then made it 2-0 when he fired home from close range shortly after following good work from Nacho Monreal.

The Chilean then added a superb third after half-time in the 69th minute to wrap up a comfortable victory for Arsene Wenger’s men.

The result means that Arsenal must beat Olympiacos in Greece next month to progress to the last 16, or be demoted the Europa League.

Arsenal’s win at The Emirates prompted plenty of activity on Twitter – and here are our favourite updates.
