Paul Merson: How many England caps Tottenham star Dele Alli will get

Paul Merson believes Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Dele Alli will earn between 50 and 60 England caps

Paul Merson has tipped Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Dele Alli to win between 50 and 60 England caps.

The Spurs youngster has been included in Roy Hodgson’s Three Lions squad for their games against Spain and France in the international break.

The 19-year-old midfielder was named man of the match after an influential performance in Sunday’s 1-1 draw with Arsenal in the north London derby at Emirates Stadium.

Speaking to Sky Sports, former Arsenal playmaker Merson tipped Tottenham midfielder Alli to win a half century of caps during his international career.

“I’m a big fan of Dele Alli and I think he’s going to get 50-60 England caps,” Merson said.

Alli has enjoyed a whirlwind start to his Spurs career after the newly-capped England international moved to White Hart Lane in a £5m deal from MK Dons.
