Paul Merson is tipping Arsenal to secure a 2-0 victory over West Bromwich Albion in Saturday’s Premier League clash at The Hawthorns.

Arsene Wenger’s men are looking to return to winning ways after the international break following their 1-1 draw with Tottenham in the north London derby earlier this month.

That result left the Gunners in second place in the Premier League table and level on points with leaders Manchester City after 12 games of the season.

Arsenal are the favourites to claim victory over the Baggies on Saturday, and former Gunner Merson feels that the north London side must win this game if they harbour serious hopes of lifting the Premier League trophy in May.

Merson told Sky Sports News HQ: “If you want to win Premier League titles, you have to go and win at the Hawthorns, but these are hard football matches because the manager has had the players for one day.

“A lot of them have been away on international duty, and it could take its toll. But if they’re going to win the Premier League they have to win this game.

“West Brom boss Tony Pulis will set up his team perfectly, play very defensively and hope to pick them off on the break or through a set piece, but Arsenal should have too much for them.”

West Brom head into Saturday’s game in 13th place in the Premier League table and on the back of their 2-0 loss to Manchester United at Old Trafford before the international break.
