Per Mertesacker says Arsenal are determined to be involved in the Premier League title race until the end.

The Gunners can move level on points with joint leaders Leicester City and Manchester City if Arsene Wenger’s side beat Norwich City at Carrow Road on Sunday afternoon.

We are very united. That is my feeling over the past couple of years. We always build up something and now it is time to prove we can do something

Per Mertesacker

The north London side had won six successive Premier League games before a surprise 2-1 loss to Tony Pulis’s West Bromwich Albion side at The Hawthorns last weekend.

Arsenal centre-half Mertesacker says the Gunners are very united ahead of their clash against the Canaries.

“We want to be involved until the end – that’s the target,” Mertesacker told Arsenal’s website.

“We have improved already from last season and that is why we are looking forward to the next fortnight as they are defining weeks for the team.

“We are very united. That is my feeling over the past couple of years. We always build up something and now it is time to prove we can do something.

“Doing great things means winning something where you need to be consistent for more than six games.”

The Gunners haven’t won the Premier League title since Wenger’s Invincibles side triumphed in 2004 without losing a game.

Arsenal have won eight of their 13 Premier League games so far this season, whilst the north London outfit lost to West Ham United, Chelsea and West Brom this term.
