Alexis Sanchez issues an Arsenal rallying cry as the Gunners prepare for their Champions League showdown with Bayern Munich
Alexis Sanchez was all smiles as Arsenal boarded their plane to fly to Germany on Tuesday afternoon ahead of their Champions League showdown with Bayern Munich on Wednesday night.
Arsene Wenger’s men head to the Allianz Arena looking to build on their impressive 2-0 win over Pep Guardiola’s men at Emirates Stadium last month.
Sanchez is clearly in positive spirits heading into the clash, as he posted the picture above on his personal Instagram account and wrote: “Let’s Go gunners tomorrow ”
Sanchez has scored six Premier League goals for Arsenal so far this season.
Arsenal, who beat Swansea City 3-0 on Saturday, bounced back into contention in Group G with a 2-0 win against Bayern last month and now travel to Bavaria, where they are unbeaten in their last two visits. Bayern lead the way in the section with six points, three more than the Gunners.
The home side’s recent record makes for decent reading for them. This is Bayern’s 16th meeting with English opponents in the last five seasons. They have won the last two such home games but previously had not prevailed in four in Bavaria, including the 2012 final defeat on penalties by Chelsea.
Bayern’s overall home record against English teams is pretty impressive too, winning 12, drawing six and losing just three times.
