Arsenal defender Kieran Gibbs says he was glad to score the equaliser against Tottenham Hotspur
Kieran Gibbs says he was glad to rescue a point for Arsenal after his strike sealed a 1-1 draw with Tottenham Hotspur at The Emirates on Sunday.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side took a 32nd-minute lead after England international Harry Kane slotted a finish past Arsenal goalkeeper Petr Cech.
Arsene Wenger raised eyebrows when he brought on left-back Gibbs for striker Joel Campbell in the second half at Emirates Stadium.
But the move paid dividends after the England defender poked a finish past Spurs shot stopper Hugo Lloris following Mesut Ozil’s cross.
And Gibbs, who hadn’t scored since a 3-0 victory over Aston Villa in 2012, was delighted to secure a point for second-placed Arsenal.

Arsenal are level on points with Premier League leaders Manchester City.
The Gunners make the trip to Tony Pulis’s West Bromwich Albion side at The Hawthorns in their next Premier League game on 21 November.
