Ben Davies sent a message to Tottenham Hotspur supporters after Spurs qualified for the Europa League knockout stage.

Harry Kane netted a remarkable ninth goal in six games in all competitions after he nodded in from close range after Son Heung-min guided Christian Eriksen’s corner into the England striker’s path.

Spurs are top of their group and three points ahead of second-placed Anderlecht following their win. Mauricio Pochettino’s side require a point from the final game at home to Monaco to seal top spot.

Davies was handed a rare start at left-back as Danny Rose dropped to the bench ahead of Tottenham’s clash against defending Premier League champions Chelsea in Sunday’s London derby.

The Tottenham defender posted the above Instagram photo and paid tribute to the club’s travelling support in his caption: “Crucial 3 points! Great to have qualified with a game in hand! HUGE thanks to the fans who made the trip! 🙌 Bring on Sunday at The Lane!! 👊 #COYS”

Davies has made 12 appearances in all competitions this season for the north London side.
